An interesting field made brooch, constructed of silver, the obverse consisting of a central circular disc bearing an engraved monogram of WG or GW, flanked on each side by a detailed reproduction Oak Leaf clasp to the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross, the reverse with a barrel hinge and horizontal pinback meeting a round wire catch, the reverse of each clasp bearing a silver content number of 800 and LDO codes of L 12 for C. E.
