We are fairly certain that this originates in the Dutch East Indies or the Philippines, produced Circa 1880 1900. Its hilt is similar in shape to that of a Nepalese Kukri Knife, however the massive forward curved blade dips down almost like a giant Bowie knife. The blade is over 14 1 2" in length, the sharp edge returning for two inches on the upper side. The wood hilt is checkered and has a simple but very effective
