Original British WWI D-Shape Mess Kit Tin - Dated 1918 MG 42 This find Swagger stickOriginal Item. Only One Available. This is a scarce example of a WWI British D Shaped mess kit. The Mess Tin is two parts and made of tin plated steel with a seam down one side and with a wire carrying handle. There is a retractable handle in the lid for use as a pan. This example is not maker marked that we can find, but is stamped along the rim 18 over a Broad arrow, for 1918. The mess kit measures roughly 7 x 4 x 4. The mess kit has heavy wear and
