Acot was a London gunsmith, who operated a shop from 1820 to 1830, not long after the Napoleonic wars. This is a very nice "Overcoat Pistol", intended to be carried by Gentlemen on their way home. They were relatively small and easy to conceal, giving a good amount of protection in their day. This example is fitted with a 7 1 2" octagonal barrel marked LONDON, and is 11 1 4" in overall length.
