This is a great scrap of aircraft skin taken from Plane 404, U. S. S. Colorado, which crashed at sea on February 16th, 1937. The piece is gray on the front and fabric on the back. The piece measures about 6 x 2. The piece of aircraft skin reads: FROM PLANE 404 U. S. S. COLORADO WHICH CRASHED AT SEA FEB. 16, 1937 LT. HORNEY PILOT ENS. WENTZ OBSERVER BOTH SAVED. The plane crashed into the sea and this piece was recovered
