Brothers Marine Corps Corporal Lawrence Linde and U. S. Navy Seabee George Linde from St Paul, Minnesota both served in World War Two and were both Wounded in Action and found themselves at the same hospital at Pearl Harbor to recover. During their stay at the hospital the posed per a photograph holding up a WW2 Imperial Japanese "good luck" flag that Lawrence captured during the Battle of Saipan in June 1944.
