This is a fantastic "salty" service worn German WWII Waffen SS camouflage cap, made using the Waffen SS specific "Oak Pattern A" (Eichenlaubmuster) camouflage, which was in use 19431945. This pattern was based on the earlier Platanenmuster (Plane Tree Pattern) used 19371942, and was reversible, with a "spring" side and an "autumn" side. These camouflage caps were made from a variety of materials during the war.
