This is a fantastic example of an extremely rare and period original painted Desert Camouflaged M38 Gas Mask canister, as used by German troops during the various desert campaigns of WWII. The tan paint is retained very well with just the right amount of wear present on the ribbed body. This is by far one of the best DAK M38 camouflaged canister we have come across. The carry case is a Long Model 1938 Wehrmacht type,
